Home » General NewsGOOD HOPE PARADE!December 9, 2012 By Redd Rider of Good Hope High SchoolThe City of Good Hope could not have asked for better weather. Not too hot, not too cold with a cloudy sky but a festive atmosphere.
The 2012 Good Hope Christmas Parade started at exactly 2:00 pm as scheduled with Good Hope's Greg "Pooh" Owen as the Grand Marshal!
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts led the parade with several floats to follow.
Good Hope, Dodge City, Loretto, Johnson's Crossing and Cullman County were represented with fire trucks, emergency vehicles, boats, etc.
Tri-Green brought several big John Deere tractors to the parade while there were many more companies in the line up as well.
The Good Hope Marching Band and Good Hope Cheerleaders were on hand as well. This writer loves the enormous sound of the band and the spirit of the cheerleaders.
All local officials were on hand as well as several old cars, trucks and even some horses, etc. This was a great parade the went from Good Hope High School to Trimble Road to CR 437 to Town Hall. Good Hope provided a bowl of chili, hot dogs and drinks to all free of charge (while supplies lasted).
Congratulations on a great community event!
GO RAIDERS!
