Good Hope came out blazing in the first quarter on 14 points by phenome Kayla Tillman. The 22 point first would not be enough as fouls would again be the name of the game for the Lady Raiders.
Hayden shot 39 free throws in the contest compared to Good Hope's 12. The team fouls were 26-14 with the Lady Wildcats making 21 points from the charity stripe.
Kayla Tillman led all scoring with 19. She made 5 treys.
Kacy Thomas found 3 treys as well to add 9 points for the Lady Raiders.
Kaitlyn Bishop fouled out with 7 points.
Cara Goodwin and Savannah Fendley contributed 5 points each while Kayla Scott added a much needed spark with a 3 in the third quarter. Darcie Wilson and Kami Calvert each added 2 points in the effort.
Grayson Taylor led Hayden with 17 points and Sharley Miller had 13.
The second quarter proved to be the demise of the Lady Raiders as they were held to 7 points. They also scored just 8 in the fourth.
It takes 4 quarters to win a game and in spite of the turnovers and fouls, the ladies had a shot to with the game with 10 seconds left but couldn't make that last crucial basket.
An exciting game none the less.
Good Hope will host West Point this Friday night at D.E. Ryan Gymnasium.
