Cara Goodwin (43-4) earned MVP honors in the AHSAA 4A North Regional Softball Tournament pitching all 6 games.  Goodwin threw 56 strikeouts on the weekend to strongly supoprt the Lady Raiders effort in it's quest to earn a trip to Montgomery and the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Maegan Sterling was stellar at shortshop!  By our best count she had 11 phenominal plays on grounders and pop-ups in the last two games.  Absolutely brilliant play!

Kayla Tillman had 3 homers in the event as well as solid play at third base.

Alannah Henke and Darcie Wilson contributed greatly in the effort with bats and defense.

The Lady Raiders lead off batter, Kayla Tillman walked in the bottom of the first inning. Bailee Andrews reached on error and a nice sacrifice bunt by Cara Goodwin pushed both runner to the next base.  Darcie Wilson singled to drive in both Tillman and Andrews.

In the fourth frame, Alannah Henke singled.  Darcie Wilson had a fielder's choice and Henke was safe on error at second.  Maegan Sterling's sacrifice bunt pushed both on to the next base.  Skylan Thompson's sacrifice bunt drove in Henke.

Darby Randolph walked to start the bottom of the fifth inning.  Kayla Tillman doubled to score Randolph.  Bailee Andrews sacrifice bunt pushed Tillman to third.  Cara Goodwin walked and Alannah Henke singled to load the bases.  Tillman scored on a passed ball.

Kayla Tillman cranked up the game leading off with a solo home run for the Lady Raider's first score in this AHSAA 4A North Region Championship game.  

In the third inning Cara Goodiwn doubled.  Alannah Henke sent Goodwin across the plate with another double.  Darcie Wilson kept the double streak alive sending Henke in for the score.  Maegan Sterling singled and Skylan Thompson reached on a fielder's choice driving in Wilson.

Good Hope would enjoy the 4-0 lead until Mackenzie Daniel scored in the fourth.

Wilson tied the game up in the fifth inning with Harlie Barkley, Molly Hughes and Madison Daniel all scoring.

The game was still tied at the end of the seventh inning.  It would take until the ninth for the Lady Raiders to score.  Kayla Tillman singled, Cara Goodwin doubled and Alannah Henke hit a nice rbi single to score Tillman.  Darcie Wilson doubled to drive in Goodwin and the final score of the game was 6-4.

The Lady Raiders forced the if needed game which is described in the top of this article.

Good Hope was 42-5-2 after this game.

Alannah Henke reached on errors as the lead off batter in the fourth inning.  Maegan Sterling singled and Kacy Thomas singled as well driving in Henke.

Kayla Tillman singled to lead off the fifth and was pushed to second with a sacrifice by Bailee Andrews.  Cara Goodwin single and both runners would steal on a wild pitch.  Allanah Henke drove in Tillman with sacrifice grounder.

In the sixth, Kacy Thomas singled as did Darby Randolph.  Kayla Tillman walked to load the bases.  Bailee Andrews hit a 2 rbi single to score Thomas and Randolph.

Good Hope earns a spot in Montgomery with this win.  The Lady Raiders defeat of East Lawrence was reminiscant of the Area 13 Championship when Good Hope routed the Lady Eagles 10-0.

Cara Goodwin threw seven strikeouts in the complete game effort.
