When was the last time you saw a game with 22 strikeouts?  Today's first round contest between the West Limestone Lady Wildcats and the Good Hope Lady Raiders was just that!  This AHSAA 4A North Regional promises to be a solid contest with great student/athletes trying to help their team qualify for the state championship in Montgomery next week.

Cara Goodwin was solid in the circle with 14 strikeouts that were definately needed as the Lady Raiders struggled defensively coughing up 3 errors in the game.  The errors cost base runners but no runs as Good Hope benefitted from a West Limestone error to score the only run of the game.

Skylan Thompson singled in the fourth inning and Kayla Tillman walked but both would be stranded.

In the 5th frame, Maegan Sterling reached after getting hit with the ball but also stranded.

The 6th inning would find Kayla Tillman leading off the bottom with a single.  Sacrifices by Bailee Andrews and Cara Goodwin pushed Tillman to third.  Alannah Henke reached on error and Tillman crossed the plate for the only run of the ball game.

The Lady Raiders need to find their gloves in the next contest at 11:00 am in the second round against the winner of the Crossville/Deshler game.
