All you have to do is look at the scoresheet to get the impact that pitching has on a game!  When you look at a team's batting as mostly what you see are K's, you know that the other team did it's job defensively!  Good Hope did just that as Cara Goodwin threw 13 strikeouts enroute to a 2 hit shut out in this Area 13 Championship game.

The Lady Raiders bats weren't bad either as Kayla Tillman singled to lead the Lady Raiders off in the bottom of the firs inning.  Bailee Andrews singled and both Tillman and Andrews would steal.  Cara Goodwin hit a sacrifice grounder to the pitcher to score Tillman.  Alannah Henke then doubled to score Andrews.  Henke then stole third.  Maegan Sterling reached on error and Henke scored.

In the fourth frame, Darby Randolph led off with triple.  Andrews singled pushing in Randolph.  Andrews stole second and Henke singled to score her.

In the sixth and last inning, Andrews reach after getting hit, Goodwin walked and Henke singled to load the bases.  Wilson reached after getting hit and Andrews scored.  Sterling walked next to score Goodwin (Whitworth) and Thomas singled to score Henke. Haley Calvert would walk to score Wilson and finally, Randolph hit a nice sacrifice grounder to score Sterling.  With only 1 out, the game was over 10-0.

We can't say enough to the Lady Raiders, who seem to be peaking at just the right time.  38-4-2 is an awesome record and this team is getting close to setting another school record.  If they can win two games, they will break the previous record of 39 wins set four years ago.
