Good Hope has maintained a #4 ranking in the ASWA State Polls all year.  This writer feels they are deserving of a higher ranking and will prove it in post season play.

 

All you have to do is look at the stats to confirm the Lady Raiders prowess.

The obvious phenome for Good Hope is ace pitcher Cara Goodwin who has garnered national acclaim and is just a junior.  

 

Goodwin is #1 in wins (35) and strikeouts (421) in the United States of America as well as Alabama.  She also has the #3 ranking in ERA (.70) but this stat is flawed.  The two above her have a ridiculous number of earned runs vs runs making it appear that she should be #1 here as well.

 

K'ra (as well call her) has 1311 career strikouts (AHSAA).  She is well on her way to a NFHS record posting with 1159 ks.  She must reach 1635 to gain a career entry there.  She can also get her name in that record book with 509 ks in one season.  She is well on her way with post season to go.  

 

Cara also leads in fielding percent (more than 20 TC) with .993.  She's not bad at the plate either with a .398 average, 32 runs, 53 hits, 31 rbis, 4 home runs, .571 slugging percent and .416 on base percent.

 

Kayla Tillman has shined both in the field and at the plate leading the Good Hope Lady Raiders in batting average (.504), runs (39), hits (70), home runs (8) and slugging percent (.813).  Tillman also sports a .950 fielding percent.

 

Alannah Henke has shown tremendous ability in the field and at the plate.  She sports a .462 batting average and is second in runs (34), hits (54), rbis (30), home runs (5) and slugging percent (.701).  Henke leads the team in on base percentage (.533). She also is second in fielding percent (.983).

 

Darcie Wilson has done an admirable job behind the plate for the Lady Raiders.  To this writer's knowledge she had fielded ever pitch that has been thrown this year!  Not to mention superb with the bat.  She had 21 runs on 42 hits and had 16 rbis.

 

Bailee Andrews scored 27 times on 29 hits and had 18 rbis.  Andrews led the team in stolen bases with 7.  She also had a .950 fielding percent.

 

The list goes on and on with virtually every Lady Raider contributing in one form or another in the success of the season!
