Cara Goodwin struckout 13 Lady Aggies to lead the Lady Raiders to victory.  Goodwin also smoked the bat with a four for four performance.

 

Alannah Henke was also four for four at the plate.

 

Cara Goodwin singled in the first and scored (Sterling) when Alannah Henke hit a solid double.

 

The Lady Raiders left based loaded in the second inning.  Skylan Thompson walked, as did Haley Calvert.  Darby Randolph singled then Tillman got on with a fielder's choice as Thompson was forced out at home.  A pop up would end the side.

 

In the third, Goodwin got it started with a single, Henke followed with a single.  Darcie Wilson hit a sacrifice bunt to push both runners.  Kacy Thomas is a solid sacrifice fly to deep left to score Goodwin (Sterling).  A pop up would strand Henke.

 

Haley Calvert singled to lead off in the fourth frame.  Kayla Tillman erupted for a two run homer.

 

Tillman singled and Andrews doubled to drive in Tillman in the sixth.  Cara Goodwin singled to score Andrews.

 

Not only did Good Hope benefit from 13 strkeouts from ace Goodwin, it reaped the rewards of a no error game with several nice defensive plays.

 

The Lady Raiders found 13 hits but stranded 10 runners in the contest.

 

This victory pushes Good Hope to 27-4-1 (5-0) and secures home field advantage for the AHSAA Area 13 Tournament. 

 

The ladies will host Vinemont tomorrow for the Annual Pink Game.

 

Next wekk Good Hope will host Westminster on Monday and Fairview on Thursday.
