It was familiar territory for Madison High School’s softball team, and it was strangely OK.
The fourth-seeded Mohawks trailed Carlisle 2-0 after two batters Monday in a Division III sectional final, but showed the mettle they’ve had on display most of the season by ralling for a 5-2 victory at Waynesville.
“Unfortunately, we play from behind a lot,” Madison coach Joe Amstutz admitted. “I don’t like it. It’s not a good habit to get into, but our team is resilient. I knew it was going to take more than two runs to beat us.”
