Students interested in participating in the Young Americans Workshop can pick up a registration form in the office. The cost is $57 and scholarships are available. Registration and scholarship forms need to be turned into the Career Center by October 19th. If you have additional questions, see Mrs. Pulverenti.

 

FCA members pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Kintz tomorrow. Bus leave Wed. night at 6:00 sharp. Dress warm because we will be outside the entire time.

 

Organizations

Any student council or class officers that would like to go to district student council Friday October 26th need to sign up in Mr. Caldwell's room by tomorrow morning.  We will be leaving LHS at 6:30am and be returning by 3:45pm.  

Student Council members that would like to order a t-shirt need to sign up and bring 15 dollars to Mr. Caldwell by this Friday October, 12th.  

 

TOP Club Meeting in Mr. Morgan’s classroom after school today.

 

Student Council Meeting Thursday at 7:20 pm.

 

FCA Meeting on Friday at 7:00 am in the library.

 

Activities

Congratulations to this week’s Student-Athlete of the Week, Natalie Oetting.  Natalie is a junior volleyball player.

 

There will be a meeting for Freshmen-Senior boys basketball players about the upcoming season this Friday at 3:30pm in Room 118.

 

Counselor’s Corner
The PSAT will be offered to Juniors on Wednesday, October 17. The PSAT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills and writing skills. It also gives you a chance to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program. If you would like to take the PSAT, you must sign up with Mrs. Nevels. You must sign up by October 10 or you will not be allowed to take the test. Students will have to pay $14 to take the test.

 

17 year old students interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement, please see Mrs. Nevels about an awesome job opportunity.

 

Sophomores will take the PLAN test tomorrow. Last name A-L will test 1-3 hour, and last name M-W will test 5-7 hour.

 

A representative from the University of Missouri - Columbia (MU) will be here tomorrow during advisory.

A representative from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO will be here Friday, October 12 during advisory.

A representative from the American College of Hair Design will be here during lunch on Tuesday, October 16.

Juniors and Seniors: There will be a college fair on Tuesday, October 30 from 1:30-3:00 in the LHS gym.
