Boys Track Wins Indoor Triangular

The SHS Boys’ Track and Field team claimed first place in an indoor triangular with Machesney Park-Harlem and Freeport Tuesday at Westwood. SHS tallied 62 points, followed by Harlem (50) and Freeport (33).
Drake Penaflor-Heier won both the 200 (24.07) and 400 (53.31) meter dashes. He edged out teammate Cornell Hartz by .01 seconds in the 400.
Other winners for Sterling were Keanu Interone (pole vault, 11-9), Hartz (long jump, 20-1), and Ethan Rocha (800, 2:10.95).
Next Up: The Golden Warriors host the Sterling Indoor Invite Saturday at Westwood.
