Speech Season Comes to an End at State

Sterling High SchoolThe SHS Speech Team had three events qualify for the IHSA State Individual Events Tournament held this past Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16, at the Peoria Civic Center.After competing in two preliminary rounds they did not advance to the final round but represented Sterling proudly.
At the end of the second preliminary round Hunter Wolf & Clarissa Worcester were ranked 7th in Humorous Duet Acting, just missing the cut of the top six for the final round. Also competing at State were Hannah Matheney in Poetry Reading and Zach Woessner in Radio Speaking.
We are proud of all our Speech Team members and congratulate them on a successful season!
