Home » Boys' Basketball NewsWarriors Edge Geneseo 45-43February 16, 2013 Sterling High School
The Golden Warriors (10-16, 4-5) trailed 39-33 before going on their game ending run. With the score tied at 43 with less than 15 seconds to play, Sterling’s defense forced a turnover. Logan Wharff quickly pushed the ball into frontcourt, and found Micah Miller open on the right baseline. Miller got off a 15-foot jump shot, which found the bottom of the net with one second to play. Geneseo was unable to stop the clock, giving SHS the thrilling victory, and avenging a loss at Geneseo earlier this season.
Zach Rehmert paced Sterling with 17 points.
Sterling lost 36-35 on the sophomore level.
Next Up: The Golden Warriors host LaSalle-Peru Friday (2/22), before travelling to IMSA Saturday to close out the regular season.
