Warriors Fall at Streator

Despite a career-high 20 points and six 3-pointers from junior Alex Soriano, the SHS Boys’ Basketball team dropped a 54-53 NIB-12 West decision at Streator Friday.
Sterling (9-14, 3-4) fell behind by 14 (20-6) early in the second quarter, but rallied to make it a nip-and-tuck battle the rest of the game. Sterling’s last lead was 45-44, before Streator went on an 8-2 to take control.
Sterling has lost its four conference games by a combined 12 points.
Streator also won 57-35 on the sophomore level.
Next Up: The Golden Warriors host Sycamore in a NIB-12 crossover Tuesday. The sophomore contest starts at 5:30.
