After leading just 23-21 at halftime, the SHS Girls’ Basketball team opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run after never looked back en route to a 50-32 win at Dixon in the third round of the Sauk Valley Shootout.
Kiarra Harris paced Sterling with 13 points and eight rebounds. McKenna Pearson added nine points and Stephanie Kester seven.
On the sophomore level, Sterling (1-2) downed Dixon 33-21.
Next Up: Sterling (2-1) takes on Newman (2-1) in the fourth round of the Sauk Valley Shootout Friday in Rock Falls. Game time is 8:00 p.m. The Golden Warriors close out the tournament Saturday at 8:00 p.m. against Rock Falls.
