The SHS Volleyball team won a conference championship for the first time since 1986 two years ago. The Golden Warriors had to share that title with LaSalle-Peru however. This year, the Warriors were not in a charitable mood as they clinched the outright NIB-12 West title with a 25-21, 25-16 win at Streator Tuesday.
The win ups the Golden Warriors record to 32-2 overall and 9-0 in conference. The 32 wins equals the school record for single-season wins set in 2010.
Next Up: The Warriors close out the regular season Thursday at Geneseo. They open post-season play October 23 against Mendota or Plano at Musgrove Fieldhouse in the semifinals of the Sterling 3A Regional.
