Warriors Rout LaSalle-Peru 10-0

The SHS Boys’ Soccer team continued on its goal-scoring binge Tuesday with a 10-0 whitewashing of LaSalle-Peru at a soggy Roscoe Eades Stadium.  The win guarantees Sterling (18-2, 9-0) of no worse than a share of its second straight NIB-12 West championship.

Senior Pedro Ocampo scored 40% of the Golden Warrior goals Tuesday.  Pedro received service on his four tallies from his twin brother Salomon (twice), Alfredo Lopez and Bryan Gutierrez.  Salomon scored two of his own, one off an assist from Pedro.  Lopez and Gutierrez also found the net themselves, as did Jose Garcia and Cade Coursey.

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors host Geneseo Thursday (10/11) at Roscoe Eades Stadium.  A win gives SHS the undisputed, unbeaten conference title for the second straight season.  A loss means the Warriors would have to share the crown with the Maple Leafs.  Sterling beat Geneseo 3-1 last month in Geneseo.
