Warriors Fall to Rochelle

Sterling High SchoolThe Rochelle Hubs’ power running game proved too much for the SHS Football team to handle Friday. Rochelle (4-0) rolled up 506 yards rushing in a 47-21 NIB-12 crossover win at Roscoe Eades Stadium.
Sterling scored touchdowns on a 33 yard fumble return by Logan Wharff in the first quarter, a 22 yard run by Tanner Morse in the third quarter, and a 24 yard pass from Morse to Cornell Hartz in the fourth.
On the sophomore level, SHS (1-3) dropped a 14-13 decision.
Next Up: The Golden Warriors (2-2) travel to LaSalle-Peru (1-3) Friday (9/21) to begin NIB-12 West play. Action begins at 5:15 p.m.
