Warriors Win Rochelle Invite Championship

The SHS Volleyball team cruised to the championship of the Rochelle Invitational Saturday, winning five matches in straight sets.

In pool play, the Golden Warriors knocked off Putnam County (25-15, 25-22), Amboy (25-17, 25-9), and Rochelle (25-21, 25-17) to qualify for the semifinals.

SHS knocked off Lisle 25-22, 25-15 to advance to the finals against Rochelle again, where the Warriors recorded an easy 25-19, 25-14 victory.

For the tournament, Krista Loos had 25 kills, 10 ace serves, and 52 service points for the Warriors.  Darien Bardoner and Sydney McCaslin both dished out 22 assists.  Kiarra Harris had 14 blocks, and Peyton Cater 13 digs. 

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors (7-0) host Newman in a non-conference match at Musgrove Fieldhouse.  Action begins at 5:00 p.m.
