On the swim team, Wolber qualified for the state competition four times. As a freshman, she was honored with the Guppy Award while her sophomore and junior years saw her selected as the Sauk Valley Newspaper’s athlete of the week. As a sophomore, Wolber also won the Christina Yemm award, and in her sophomore, junior, and senior years, she earned the title of Ottawa Pentathlon Champion. Wolber held the SHS swimming record in the 100 fly and is still in the record books for the 200 free and the 400 free relay, was selected as the NIIC Conference MVP, and twice honored as her team’s MVP. She also served as the swim team’s captain during her senior year.

On the track, Wolber qualified for the IHSA State Track Meet as a sophomore and a senior. As a junior, she received the Most Improved Award, and as a senior, she was selected as the Warriors’ MVP. As with swimming, Wolber served as the track team’s captain during her senior year.

Beyond athletic participation, Wolber has also been involved with many SHS clubs. Her club participation includes four years in both the SHS Science Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As a freshman, Wolber was a member of the chamber singers, graduating to the more prestigious madrigal singers for her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She also served one year on student council and participated in the National Honor Society during her junior and senior years. Additionally, Wolber is a four-year Rotary Scholar and a Junior Rotarian.

Wolber’s involvement in the community has also been substantial. Wolber has served as song leader at St. Paul’s Lutheran church for four years. She has volunteered with the Feed the Children program and participated in a mission trip to New Orleans. Her other community projects have included being a soloist at the Lincoln-Manahan Home dedication, soloing at a United Way Appreciation Luncheon, volunteering at the food bank through National Honor Society, and participating in a Christmas gift drive (also through National Honor Society).

Wolber’s hobbies include running, swimming, and singing, but she also enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
