COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS ARE DUE FOR THE FIRST SIX WEEKS FOR SENIORS!
Community Services encourages the three Cs: Compassion, Commitment and Comeraderie! It provides experience, promotes personal growth and self-esteem, begins or adds to your work or college resume, strengthens your community, gives you a chance to give back and it allows YOU to make a difference!
Helping our students with their college applications and Seniors have been asked to submit 40 hours for the year (20 each semester). if your student is a graduating 2014 Senior please remind them to submit their community service hours for the first six weeks, asap. If they have not fulfilled the first semester, they have time to do so over the break and can submit them to upon our return from the Winter Break. All community service hours (40) should be submitted by Spring Break, March 2014.
Special Note: If community service is completed outside of school, students must provide information (responsibilities, number of hours and contact information) on letterhead from the organization. Community service cannot be redeemed with the student’s employers, For ex.: If a student works for Whataburger, they cannot receive service hours; Students are not allowed to receive community service hours from their relatives unless s/he owns and operated their own business and the hours must be submitted on letterhead from the business or organization, as well.
