Dallas Contemporary 161 Glass Street Dallas Texas 75207 USA +214 821 2522 summer workshop Monday 18 June - Friday 22 June Taking it to the Streets is a week-long workshop bringing 20 young artists, age 13-16 to Dallas Contemporary. In keeping with our mission of educating the public about contemporary art and artists as well as outreach to young audiences. This program engages students in a creative experience exploring all aspects of a working artists' process, from inspiration and research to construction, design, and exhibition. A master artist, local artists, and teaching assistant will lead daily sessions. The program will consist of three phases. The first phase will be an introduction to a professional graffiti artist/ master teacher. Phase two will engage students in an exploration of basic graffiti techniques such as silkscreen, stencil, and collage. The master teacher will facilitate daily sessions providing one-on-one critiques of works in progress and overall group critiques. For more infomation contact Diane Sikes at 214-821-2522
