BB: "Coach" gets 800th victory in tourney opener

Legendary Alter basketball coach Joe Petrocelli won his 800^th game as mentor of the Knights Feb. 26 when his charges throttled Carroll in Sectional opening round play 71-42. Petrocelli has roamed the sidelines at Alter for 47 years and is the only coach in the school's storied basketball history. His career record is now 800-286.

Sophomore Jaaran Simmons scored a game high 17 points to lead the Knights in the rout.
