In the 2nd matchup of two bitter rivals, Fenwick was looking to extend their lead in the GCL Co-ed North and stop Alter's winning streak. Alter just said no. In a close game throughout the night, Alter was able to upset the Falcons 53-50 in front a packed house in Kettering. Fenwick led 15-10 after the 1st quarter but was outscored 17-9 in the 2nd quarter and Alter would have the lead for good. Aggressive rebounding and dishing the ball to the post players enabled Alter to outscore Fenwick inside the paint. Michael Schwieterman led the way for the Knights with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Dean Lemon added 13 points as Alter improves to 8-8 and 6-1 in their last seven games. Fenwick drops to 13-4.
The freshman team continues to be unstopped. They pounded Fenwick 53-30. Ryan Markoff scored 25 points including 18 inside the paint. JP Schimpf added 10. Many players saw playing time and scored for the Knights including Colin Miller's buzzer at the end of the game. The Knights are now 17-1.
The JV team added a needed win against Fenwick to stay in contention to win the league. They won 49-38. Dom Laravie had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Marc O'Neal added 9 points and Nick Balent went 5-6 from the FT line in the win. The squad is now 14-4 and 7-1 in the league. They trail Carroll, who is 13-1 (7-0) by half a game for first place in the league.
