Hot Shooting In Front of Home Crowd Brings Down #1 in the State

Roger Bacon, a DIII team that is ranked #1 in the state came to Alter on Friday night looking to add another win. The Spartans opened up with a quick trey and a layup leading 5-0 before Nate Burger hit a three which sparked the Knights into what it appeared as them making every shot they took. The Knights led 20-13 after the first quarter and led 37-25 at the half. Alter would make it 52-34 after the 3rd and won the game 75-63. Nate Burger scored a career and game high 30 points including 4 threes. Michael Schwieterman added 14 points followed by Keegan Saben's 11 points.

The freshman team keeps getting better as they lead the the GCL Co-ed at 13-1. They easily defeated Roger Bacon 62-27. They lead 34-6 at halftime and lead by as much as 40 points. Ryan Markoff and JP Schimpf scored 16 and 15 points each. Jimmy Finke, Michael Beam, Nate Schumann,Robby Ruffolo and Matt Ruffolo all hit threes in the game.

The JV squad keeps rolling. They trailed 5-0 before Joe Laravie got hot scoring a season high of 22 points going 9 for 13 from the floor in a 59-38 win. Marc O'Neal added 11 points and Andy Riazzi had 10 assists in the game. Dom Laravie had his 7th double-double scoring 10 points. The JV record is 12-4.
