Knights Down Carroll on Road

The Alter Knights traveled to Carroll on January 11th in a very important matchup against league rival, the Carroll Patriots. Alter entered the game 0-4 in the GCL. The Knights got off to a great start and lead 30-23 at halftime. Carroll would sneak back into the game closing the deficit to within 3 points. Late in the 4th quarter, Carroll would nail a three to tie the game and then got a layup to go up by 2 with under a minute left. Nate Burger burned two Carroll defenders as he got the ball, pumped fake, took one dribble to the right before hitting a clutch three to put Alter up by 1. Carroll would go back down the court and hit a floater with 30 seconds to go and lead 50-49. Alter drove down the court and passed it inside to Dean Lemon, who saw freshman Keegan Saben opened under to hoop, who made the shot with 11 seconds to go. Carroll would brick their last shot and Alter would defeat the Patriots 51-50. Michael Schwieterman led the Knights with 14 points. Dean Lemon and Nate Burger each added 9 points and Keegan Saben had 7 points.
The freshman team beat the Patriots 47-30. Collin Miller came off the bench in the last minute to get his first points of the year hitting a big three. Ryan Markoff and JP Schimpf combined for 26 points. The JV suffered their first league lost to Carroll falling 44-42. The Knights lost a 6 point lead with under two minutes to go. Alter travels to Miamisburg on Tuesday night.
