The Alter Lady Knights traveled to Cincinnati State to face Oak Hills in the Cincinnati Sports Medicine Shoot Out to start off the new season.  Play was tight in the first quarter with Alter holding a slim 8-6.  Scoring picked up in the second quarter with Alter holding a 22-18 lead at halftime.  Both teams played continued close play in the 3^rd with Alter a 32-24 lead after the 3^rd quarter.  Alter picked up the defensive intensity in the final quarter outscoring Oak Hills 20-7 in the final stanza to go away with the 52-31 victory to open the season.  For the game, Alter shot 51% from the floor and 79% from the free throw line.

Leading the way for Alter was Kara Bockrath with 11 points and Maddie Bazelak with 7 rebounds.
