Kennedy High SchoolRocking the green and gold, the athletes hit the ground running, day in and day out. Despite the lack of a field or court, the "ISLANDER SPIRIT" shined true as the school's athletes represented with pride on and off the field. While all of the Islanders can celebrate, four team can lay claims as king and queens of their respective sports. The Boys' Cross-Country, Girls' Flag Rugby, Boys' Paddling and Boys' Track & Field teams knocked back the competition, earning championships in their sports. The Girls Softball team grabbed a second place in the championship matchup against the Southern High Dolphins. The Girls' Cross-Country, Girls' Track & Field, and Girls' Paddling teams all snagged a third-place finish to cap a successful season. The Boys' Volleyball team earned second during the regular season, but fell in three sets to grab fourth in the playoffs. The school's boys' Junior Varsity Basketball team came storming back in the JV tournament to defeat the top seeded Father Duenas Friars, a good sign indicative of growth and promise in basketball for next year. With growth in all of its sports, it's up to the Islanders as to whether more trophies will be coming home to rest in the school's trophy case.
