Franklin's Kyle Linville Named HCAC Male Athlete of the Year

GREENWOOD, IN – Franklin College’s Kyle Linville (Speedway, Ind./H.S.) has been named the inaugural Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Athlete of the Year following a senior season in which the senior wide receiver earned All-America honors on the gridiron.
Linville earned All-America honors from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D3football.com as the Grizzlies earned its fourth consecutive HCAC football title and NCAA playoff appearance.
The Speedway, Indiana native was also a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, which recognizes the top NCAA Division III football player in the nation.
Linville caught 108 passes for 1,374 yards and 14 touchdowns during the 2013 season and was named a first-team All-HCAC performer for the fourth consecutive season. These efforts also helped him earn many Franklin career receiving records.
The senior wide receiver also was recognized as a second-team Capital One Academic All-American by CoSIDA this fall.
The HCAC Player of the Year award is in its first year of existence. The award is voted on by the sports information directors of each member institution.
