Hanover College's Matt Brooks (Goodlettsville, Tenn./Pope John Paul II) helped the
Panthers close the season with a four game win streak and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for the second
time.  The junior first baseman finished 10-of-17 (.588) at the plate with seven
runs scored, two doubles, a home run, and seven RBI, while posting a slugging
percentage of .882 and an on-base percentage of .579.  Brooks had two hits in three

Saturday.  Hanover (16-19, 12-13 HCAC) ended the season in a three-way tie for sixth
in the HCAC standings.

Baseball Pitcher - Chris Hoopingarner, Franklin College

Franklin College's Chris Hoopingarner (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) helped
the Grizzlies secure the No. 4 seed in this week's HCAC tournament and has been
named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for
the second time.  The senior pitcher recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts and
allowed just one unearned run in eight innings as FC beat Bluffton 10-1 Friday
evening.  The lefty earned his seventh win of the season, allowing just two extra
base hits in the outing.  Franklin (24-15, 15-10 HCAC) will open the HCAC tournament
at Manchester against the host Spartans at 12:00 PM Thursday.
