TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT HCAC

DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Earlham College men's track team competed during the first day
of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Defiance College.
Marq Dixon was the top performer for the Quakers on Friday with a distance of 42'8¼"
to finish second in the triple jump.
Alec Dews was the only runner to advance to Saturday's finals. Dews was the second
fastest qualifier in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.31.
The second day of the HCAC Championships on Saturday starts at 10 a.m.
DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Earlham College women's track team had four competitors score
on Friday during the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at
Emma Hauser led the way with a third-place finish in the 10,000-meter run with a
time of 40:29.33.
Kiara Scott had the next best effort as she posted a distance of 33'0¼" in the
triple jump to take fifth.
In the pole vault, Raven Derrickson cleared 8'0" to finish in a tie for sixth.
Maya Luney added a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a 34'1¼" toss.
Hannah Franklin qualifed for the finals in two events on Saturrday. She was sixth in
the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.61. In the 400-meter hurdles she was seventh
with a 1:10.25
The HCAC Championships conclude on Saturday as the meet gets underway at 10 a.m.
