DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Earlham College men's tennis team maintained the top spot in
the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday with a 5-4 victory over
The Quakers, ranked 10th in latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III

Anton Bartashevich and Jack Ventura-Cruess beat Mike Ross and Ryan Nelson 8-3 at No.
Hank Levin and Scott Lawrence posted an 8-3 win over Cord Speelman and Justin Walker
in the second position.
In singles play, the Quakers won in the top three positions against the Yellow
Jackets (10-8, 4-3) to win the contest.
Bartashevich took care of Ross 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1.
At No. 2, Hank Levin beat Speelman 6-1, 6-1.
Ventura-Cruess defeated Nelson 6-0, 6-1 in the third spot.
Earlham (11-6, 5-0) returns to action on Friday against Hanover College. The HCAC
affair on the EC Courts starts at 4 p.m.
