ELSAH, Ill. — The Earlham College men's tennis team got back on track Friday night
as the Quakers swept Principia College 9-0.

Ranked No. 10 in the region, the Quakers began the match by taking all of the
doubles contests against the Panthers (4-8).

Anton Bartashevich and Jack Ventura-Cruess defeated Jason Wissman and Joey Sander
8-6 at No. 1.

Phillip Locklear and Hank Levin teamed up in the No. 2 slot to beat Nate Waters and
Kenny Sydness 8-5.

At No. 3, Scott Lawrence and Andrey Gavrilov won 8-1 over Andrew Rohrer and Aaron
Switzer.

In the singles competition, Bartashevich posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Wissman at
No. 1, while Locklear got past Joey Sander 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2.

Levin defeated Waters 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 with Ventura-Cruess took care of Rohrer 6-0,
6-1 in the fourth position.

In the fifth spot, Lawrence beat Daniel Drake 6-3, 6-3. David Bluestein survived a
match point in the tiebreaker to win over Kenny Sydness 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) at No.
6.

Earlham (6-4) visits the top-ranked squad in the region on Saturday. The Quakers
face Washington University at 11 a.m.
