RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College baseball team dropped a 7-1 decision to the
College of Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday in Randal R. Sadler Stadium.

The Lions got started early in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair
with a pair of runs in the first inning off Earlham starter Howie Smith (2-1), who
took the loss after three innings of work.

Mount St. Joseph (7-11-1, 2-5) added a run in the second and then scored twice in
fourth and sixth innings to take a 7-0 advantage.

The Quakers scored their run in the eighth. Josh Parr started the rally with a
single and Ethan Bailey doubled to left to score Parr.

Bailey led the Quakers with two hits, while Ted Williams had his Earlham record 12th
career triple in the first inning.

Earlham (11-8, 3-4) returns to action on Friday in the opener of a HCAC series at
Transylvania University. The contest is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
