Bluffton University sophomore center Thayne Recker (Arlington, Ohio/H.S.) scored 28
points in BU's 89-79 win at Anderson Saturday and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. The sophomore
tallied a game-high 28 points off the bench as the Beavers pulled out the road win.
Recker shot 11-for-13 from the field and added six rebounds in the win. Bluffton
(4-4, 2-1 HCAC) returns to the court on December 29 against OSU-Lima.
Women's Basketball - Erynn Meiklejohn, Manchester University
Manchester University's Erynn Meiklejohn (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Concordia) scored 26
points in the Spartans' 61-42 win over Rose-Hulman Saturday and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The
senior forward set a career high with 26 points, shooting 9-for-10 from the field
and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Meiklejohn also added a pair of rebounds,
three steals, and a block to her stat line as Manchester improved to 3-0 in league
