Men's Soccer 
XENIA, Ohio — A penalty kick by Jacob Ebbs in the second overtime on Wednesday gave
the Earlham College men's soccer team a 2-1 win over Defiance College. 

The Yellow Jackets (6-6, 1-1) took a 1-0 lead at 13:20 of the first half of the
Heartland College Athletic Conference match on the turf field at the Athletes in
Action Complex. 

Arsene Kabeya scored an unassisted goal at 72:01 of the second period to tie the

Ebbs scored his game-winner at 97:32 of the second extra session. 

Earlham goalkeeper Aaron Falsetto had one save in the contest as the Quakers led
18-6 in shots and 4-0 in corner kicks. 

The Quakers (6-6, 2-0) entertain Bluffton University on Saturday. The HCAC affair on
Matlack Field starts at 3 p.m. 

Women's Tennis 
RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College women's tennis team picked up an 8-1 win over
Defiance College on Wednesday. 

Earlham had a 3-0 lead after the doubles action. Olivia Engle and Claire Welsh
blanked Tasha Brown and Nicole Tank 8-0 at No. 1, while Jessica Childs and Annie
Foley beat Savannah Marquez and Haley Kuhlman 9-7 in the second position. The
Quakers picked up a forfeit at No. 3. 

In singles play, Olivia Engle took care of Brown 6-0, 6-0 in the top spot.

In the fifth position, Jordyn Grimes beat Kayla Miller 6-0, 6-0. Earlham won by
forfeit at No. 6. 

The Quakers (4-6, 2-5) finish the regular season at home next Wednesday against
Anderson University. The HCAC match gets underway at 4 p.m. 

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team fell 25-19, 25-13 25-15 to
Defiance College on Wednesday night on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness

contest with 10 kills against the Yellow Jackets (14-5, 2-0). She also had three

Ashley Hedrick topped the Quakers with 18 assists. Kazondra Ramos led the way with
seven digs and a pair of service aces. Jolene Wells added two blocks. 

Earlham (3-17, 0-3) travels to the University of Rochester for a pair of matches on
Saturday. The Quakers play Rochester (10 a.m.) before finishing the day against
Hiram College at noon.
