The following athletes were named players of the week in their respective sports for
the week ending September 29, 2013.
Men's Cross Country - No Nominations
Women's Cross Country - No Nominations

Football: Offense - Ryan Landwehr, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Rose-Hulman quarterback Ryan Landwehr (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) had a hand in all
five offensive touchdowns in a 44-30 win at Manchester Saturday and has been named
the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on offense.
The senior finished 20-of-33 through the air for 298 yards and three touchdowns and
added 42 yards and two scores on the ground.  Landwehr connected on scoring strikes
of 59 and 58 yards in the win.  Rose-Hulman (2-2, 2-0 HCAC) will play host to
Hanover College Saturday afternoon at 1:30 PM.

Football: Defense - Zach Zehren, Franklin College

Franklin College defensive back Zach Zehren (Madison, Ind./H.S.) led the Grizzlies'
defensive effort in an 80-14 win at Earlham College Saturday and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on defense.
The senior recorded two interceptions and recovered a fumble in the win as the
Grizzlies forced six turnovers on the afternoon.  Zehren also tallied three tackles
during the first half of action, while all three of his turnovers resulted in FC
touchdowns.  No. 14 Franklin (2-2, 2-0 HCAC) will return to the field on Saturday,
October 12 at home against Mount St. Joseph.

Football: Special Teams - Mike Wood, Franklin College

Franklin College's Mike Wood (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) contributed 10 points
with his foot in FC's 80-14 win at Earlham Saturday and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams.  The
senior kicker converted seven extra points and a 34-yard field goal in the win. No.
14 Franklin (2-2, 2-0 HCAC) will return to the field on Saturday, October 12 at home
against Mount St. Joseph.

Women's Golf - Peem Chanrotchanaphan, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Rose-Hulman's Peem Chanrotchanaphan (Chiang Mai, Thailand/Grace International)
finished ninth at the DePauw Invitational over the weekend and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.  The freshman
fired rounds of 80 and 83 as she earned second-team all-tournament honors. The
Engineers finished fifth at the 10 team event.

Men's Golf - Danny Gravett, College of Mount St. Joseph
College of Mount St. Joseph's Danny Gravett (Cincinnati, Ohio/SCPA) placed third at
the Franklin College Dick Park Invitational last week and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.  The senior shot
rounds of 76 and 71 as the Mount won the team title at the event.  Gravett's score
was the top score among all HCAC golfers at the two-day event.

Women's Tennis - Suzana Mohd, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Rose-Hulman's Suzana Mohd (Puchong, Malaysia/Mara University) finished the week 4-0
as the Engineers posted wins over Franklin and Manchester and has been named the
Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.  The
junior finished with a perfect 2-0 record at the No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles
positions to help RHIT defeat Franklin 5-4 and Manchester 7-2 during the week.
Rose-Hulman (4-1, 3-1 HCAC) will face Earlham and Hanover in league play this week.

Men's Soccer - Felician Muyumba, Earlham College

Earlham College's Felician Muyumba (Lexington, Ky./Tates Creek) led the Quakers to a
1-1 record last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Men's Soccer Player of the Week.  The sophomore forward scored a goal with an assist
in EC's 2-0 win over Wittenberg and added another goal in a 3-2 loss to Otterbein.
Earlham (4-6, 0-0 HCAC) will open conference play at home against Franklin Saturday
afternoon.

Women's Soccer - Tricia Walsh, Hanover College

Hanover College junior forward Tricia Walsh (Amelia, Ohio/McNicholas) led the
regionally ranked Panthers to a 9-0 win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods last week and has
been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the
Week.   Walsh came off the bench to score one goal and add a career-high three
assists to spark the Hanover offense in the win.  The nine goals were the most
scored by the Panthers since the 2000 season.  Hanover (7-1-1, 0-0 HCAC) will open
HCAC action at Manchester Saturday at 1:00 PM.

Volleyball: Offense - Nicole Sherpensky, College of Mount St. Joseph

Mount St. Joseph's Nicole Sherpensky (Cincinnati, Ohio/Northwest) led the Lions to a
4-1 record last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Volleyball Player of the Week on offense for the second time.  In five total matches
last week, the senior middle hitter had 60 kills with 20 blocks, nine digs, three
service aces, one assist, and a hitting percentage of .386.  In the team's 3-1 win
over Rose-Hulman she had 18 kills, a .452 hitting percentage, and five blocks.
Sherpensky followed that effort with nine kills and a .533 hitting percentage in a
3-0 win over nationally ranked Carthage.  Mount St. Joseph (9-11, 1-0 HCAC) will
travel to Defiance for a tri-match with Trine Saturday afternoon.

Volleyball: Defense - Mackenzie Wieneke, Franklin College

Franklin College's Mackenzie Wieneke (Seymour, Ind./H.S.) helped the Grizzlies to a
3-0 record last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference
Volleyball Player of the Week on defense for the second time.  The sophomore
defensive specialist tallied 61 digs over the three matches, including a high of 22
digs against IU-Kokomo.  The Seymour, Indiana native had 21 digs in a 3-0 sweep over
Manchester in the team's HCAC opener and added 18 digs in a 3-0 win over Spalding on
Wednesday.  Wieneke currently leads the HCAC with 318 digs this season.  Franklin
(10-6, 1-0 HCAC) will travel to Earlham on Wednesday evening.
