Earlham College split a pair of matches on Saturday during the Quaker Classic.
The Quakers defeated Anderson University 25-13, 24-26, 15-25, 25-23, 15-11 on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center
Earlham started the day with a 25-15, 25-23, 21-25, 25-12 loss to Greenville College
In the win over Anderson, Jazmyn Corlew and Mikah Sizemore led the Quakers 16 kills each. Jolene Wells had 14 kills.
Ashley Hedrick led the Quakers with 44 assists. Rinako Nakamura had 19 digs.
Field Hockey: Quakers win
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – Earlham scored four goals in the second half to post a 5-1 victory Saturday over Wells College at Wilson College.
Natasha Jacobs scored twice, and Bailey Heinzen, Kaitlyn Brunner and Megan Hut also scored for the Quakers.
Hut, Neo Khalema and Helena Flores had Earlham assists.
Earlham goalkeeer Helen Titcomb had five saves for the Quakers (1-0), who play today at Wilson College.
Women's Soccer: Millikan downs EC in OT
Millikan University scored in overtime Saturday to post a 3-2 win over Earlham on Matlack Field.
Annie Frodeman scored for Earlham, while Kelly Mayhew had a goal and an assist.
Earlham goalkeeper A.J. Johnson had 14 saves.
The Quakers (0-1-1) return to action on Thursday at DePauw.
Men's Soccer: Earlham falls
GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Earlham dropped a 2-0 decision at DePauw on Saturday.
Earlham (1-1) travels today to Wabash.
Cross Country: Quakers finish 3rd
ANDERSON, Ind. – Earlham’s women’s team took third on Saturday at the Anderson Invitational.
Maddie Fega led the Quakers in the 4,000-meter race at Mounds State Park with a time of 16:41 to finish seventh. Miranda Cormwell was just behind Fega with a time of 16:44 to finish eighth.
Anderson won Trine was second.
Earlham’s men's team was fourth. Gabriel Penk led the Quakers with a time of 22:32 to finish eighth. Simon Conrad was ninth with a time of 22:37.
Berea College was first.
The Quakers compete in the Indiana Intercollegiates at Indiana University on Sept. 20.
