Earlham College Broadcast SportsORLANDO, Fla. — The Earlham College men's tennis team got back on track on Sunday as
the Quakers stopped their two-match skid with an 8-1 win over Hobart College.
The Quakers swept the doubles competition from Hobart (1-3) to begin the match.
Anton Bartashevich and Jack Ventura-Cruess defeated Bruce Grant and Michael Fields
8-4 at No. 1.
Kyle Richter and Phillip Locklear won 8-4 over Sam DeLuccia and Alex James at No. 2.
At No. 3, Andrey Gavrilov and Brad Maisey posted an 8-4 victory over Peter Cruice
and Luke DeLuccia.
In singles play, Bartashevich defeated Grant 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) at No. 1. Locklear
beat James 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3.
Jack Ventura-Cruess won 6-4, 7-5 over Cruice at No. 4, while Maisey outlasted Fields
6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 5.
Maisey's two wins on the day moved him into a tie for the all-time wins mark with
Charlie DiLalla at 112.
In the No. 6 spot, Gavrilov beat Ben Robinson 6-2, 6-2.
The Quakers (8-2) remain in Orlando this week as they play Grinnell College on
Wednesday
