Baseball Hitter - Brad Kremer, Defiance College




Defiance College's Brad Kremer (St. Henry, Ohio/H.S.) led the Jackets to a
4-3 record down in Florida last week and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week.  The junior
infielder finished the week 6-for-14 (.429) at the plate as the Jackets
finished their Florida trip with a 4-3 record.  Kremer scored two runs with
three doubles, seven RBI, and a stolen base, while finishing the week with
an on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .643.  Defiance
(6-3, 0-0 HCAC) will face Ohio Northern Tuesday and open HCAC play against
Hanover over the weekend.


Baseball Pitcher - Darin Waterman, Defiance College




Defiance College's Darin Waterman (Celina, Ohio/H.S.) recorded two wins in
two starts for the Jackets last week and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.  The junior
tossed his first career complete game shutout in a 5-0 win over
Wisconsin-Lutheran, finishing the game with 14 strikeouts and three hits
allowed in seven innings of work.  Waterman followed the performance with a
five inning outing in a 4-1 win over Salem State, allowing one earned run
with four hits allowed and six strikeouts.  For the week, Waterman finished
2-0 with seven hits allowed, an ERA of 0.75, and 20 strikeouts in 12 innings
of work.  Defiance (6-3, 0-0 HCAC) will face Ohio Northern Tuesday and open
HCAC play against Hanover over the weekend.


Softball Hitter - Kylie Planck, Manchester University




Manchester University's Kylie Planck (Valparaiso, Ind./Wheeler) led the
Spartans during day one of its 2013 spring trip in Clermont, Florida and has
been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of
the Week.  The junior finished the week 4-for-7 (.571) with a double, three
RBI, and a .714 slugging percentage. Manchester (2-2, 0-0 HCAC) will
continue play in Clermont, Florida this week.


Softball Pitcher - Alli Rowland, Defiance College




Defiance College's Alli Rowland (Westerville, Ohio/North) went 2-1 in the
circle last week for the Jackets and has been named the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.  The freshman made four
appearances with two starts during the trip and registered back-to-back
complete games in her last two appearances.  Rowland tallied 21.0 innings of
work during the week, allowing 17 hits, two earned runs, with seven
strikeouts and a 0.67 ERA.  Defiance (6-4, 0-0 HCAC) will host Heidelberg
Wednesday before opening the conference schedule at Rose-Hulman Saturday.


Men's Tennis - Ryan Hammer, Franklin College




Franklin College's Ryan Hammer (Greenwood, Ind./H.S.) went 2-0 as the
Grizzlies swept Bluffton Saturday and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week.  In
Franklin's 9-0 win over Bluffton, Hammer earned an 8-1 win at No. 2 singles
and teamed with Blake Wareham for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles.  Franklin
(5-4, 3-1 HCAC) will face Mount St. Joseph and Transylvania in HCAC matches
this weekend.


Men's Golf- Jantzen Latham, Transylvania University




Transylvania University's Jantzen Latham (Central City, Ky./Muhlenberg Co.)
finished fifth over the weekend at the Jekyll Island Invitational and has
been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the
Week.  The junior golfer fired a final round 75 and was one of five Pioneers
to shoot in the 70's on the final day, lifting TU to an overall fifth place
finish in the 30-team field.   Latham finished the event with rounds of 71,
74, and 75, finishing three shots behind the leaders. 


Men's Track Athlete - Matthew Icenogle, Franklin College




Franklin College's Matthew Icenogle (Scottsburg, Ind./H.S.) led the
Grizzlies to a win over rival Hanover Saturday in a dual meet and has been
named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track
Athlete of the Week.  The sophomore won the 110-meter hurdles (16.82) and
finished third in the 400-meter hurdles.  Icenogle was also a member of
Franklin's winning 4-x-100 and 4-x-400-meter relay teams.




Men's Field Athlete - Quinton Terrell, Franklin College




Franklin College's Quinton Terrell (Martinsville, Ind./H.S.) won two field
events at Hanover Saturday and has been named the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.  Terrell was
first in both the shot put (12.26 meters) and hammer throw (39.0 meters) at
the meet to lead the Grizzlies to a 69-28 win over the Panthers.


Women's Track Athlete - Jordan Moseby, Hanover College



Hanover College's Jordan Moseby (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) set two
school records at the Hanover-Franklin Rivalry Meet Saturday and has been
named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track
Athlete of the Week.  The sophomore, along with Lexi Vincz, Khrystal Nugent
and Briahna Chambers, set a school mark in the 4-x-100-meter relay with a
winning time of 50.51 seconds.  Moseby also won the 100-meter hurdles in a
school-record time of 15.36 seconds, which currently ranks among the top 10
in the nation.


Women's Field Athlete - Amanda Owen, Franklin College




Franklin College's Amanda Owen (Indianapolis, Ind./Covenant Christian) won a
pair of field events at the Franklin-Hanover Rivalry Meet Saturday and has
been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor
Field Athlete of the Week.  The senior won the shot put with a toss of 11.87
meters and the discus with a heave of 38.52 meters to lead the Grizzlies
effort.
