GREENWOOD, IN - The HCAC women's basketball tournament will get underway
Friday night with opening round action from Franklin.  The six-team
tournament will decide who receives the conference's automatic bid to the
NCAA Division III tournament.  The event will be held at Transylvania
University, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Transylvania (20-5, 16-2 HCAC) heads into the tournament with a 9-1 record
in their last 10 contests, winning the HCAC title for the fourth time in
school history.

The Pioneers posted an 8-2 record against the five other schools involved in
the conference tournament.  Franklin (21-4, 15-3 HCAC) earned a 7-3 mark

while Rose-Hulman (12-13, 8-10 HCAC) stood 2-8 vs. the tourney teams.

Top seed Transylvania will take on the winner of Defiance and Manchester
Saturday afternoon in the HCAC semifinals.  Transylvania posted a sweep of
Defiance and Manchester this season.

heading into the postseason tournament.  The No. 4 seed Yellow Jackets will
look to move into the semifinals with a win over No. 5 Manchester Friday
night at Transylvania.  Manchester swept Defiance during their two regular
season meetings.  The two teams will tip at 6:00 PM Friday night at
Transylvania University's Beck Center.

The Franklin women will be searching for their second consecutive tournament
championship this weekend.  The Grizzlies enter the 2013 tournament as the
No. 2 seed and will tangle with the winner of Hanover and Rose-Hulman in the
second semifinal at Transylvania Saturday.  The Grizzlies have won 15 of 16
heading into the postseason and earned a split with Hanover and a sweep of
Rose during their meetings this season.

Friday night at Transylvania.  The Panthers swept the Engineers during their
regular season meetings.  Hanover has gone 7-3 down the stretch, while Rose
