RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College women's basketball team dropped a 49-43
decision on Wednesday at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Kason Spay led the Quakers with 12 points and three assists in the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference contest.

Emily Sells added eight points as she led the squad with four assists. Karmell Brown
tossed in the five points and pulled down team-high eight rebounds.

The Quakers began the night with a 6-0 advantage after Sells scored with 15:39
remaining in the opening period.

The Engineers (12-12, 8-9) fought back to tie the game at 8-8 by the 8:02 mark.

The contest stayed close until Rose-Hulman scored the final four points of the first
half to lead 26-20 at the break.

In the second half, Rose-Hulman built a 37-27 lead with 10:55 left to play before
the Quakers rallied to close the gap.

Kiara Scott scored with 5:51 remaining to cut Earlham's deficit to 40-37, but that
would be as close as the Quakers would get the rest of the way.

Earlham (4-20, 3-14) finish the season on Saturday at Manchester University. The
HCAC affair gets underway at 1 p.m.
