Men's Basketball - Phil Hogan, Anderson University
Anderson University senior guard Phil Hogan (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) had a
monster holiday break for the Ravens and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the
second time. The senior set a new Anderson single game record with 55
points in a 72-68 win at La Verne (CA), hitting 20 of his 30 shots and eight
three point field goals. Hogan also scored 29 points in an 87-71 loss at
No. 23 Ohio Wesleyan and 31 points in an 84-70 triumph over Cal Tech.
During the break, the Indianapolis native averaged 38.3 points, 4.3
rebounds, and 4.7 assists, while hitting 58% from the field (42-73), 50%
from behind the arc (13-26), and 90% from the free throw line (18-20).
Hogan also earned a spot on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for
his efforts. Anderson (6-5, 2-2 HCAC) will face Manchester and Franklin in
HCAC action this week.
Women's Basketball - Courtney Prater, Hanover College
Hanover College's Courtney Prater (Anderson, Ind./Lapel) led the Panthers to
a 3-1 record during the holiday break and has been named the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the
second time. The senior forward had 14 points in an 80-74 win over
Mississippi College and added 23 points and six rebounds to help Hanover
erase a 28-point second half deficit in an 80-77 win over Centre. Out in
California, Prater posted 25 points and 13 rebounds in a loss at Redlands
and added 18 points with five rebounds in a 109-104 win at La Verne. For
the week, Prater averaged 20.0 points and 6.0 rebounds. Hanover (8-3, 2-2
HCAC) will host Mount St. Joseph and Bluffton in league play this week.
