GREENWOOD, IN - The Earlham College women's soccer program earned the HCAC
title for the third consecutive season and secured the top seed for the
conference tournament.  The Quakers earned an outright league title for the
first time in school history.  The top-seed Quakers are playing great soccer
heading into tournament play, winning six of their last seven matches.
Earlham will battle No. 4 seed Manchester in one semifinal, while second
seed Transylvania will host No. 3 Hanover in the second semifinal.

Earlham finished the regular season with a 7-1-1 mark in conference play and
an 11-5-1 overall record.  The Quakers secured the top seed in the
conference tournament with a 4-0 win over Mount St. Joseph Saturday
afternoon.  Senior midfielder Ikumi Doucette (Berwyn Heights, Md./Eleanor
Roosevelt) netted three goals in the contest to lead EC over the Lions and
earn the outright league title.

Earlham and Manchester (9-6-3, 5-3-1 HCAC) met back on October 20 at Earlham
as the Quakers defeated the Spartans 3-0.  Ikumi Doucette scored a pair of
goals in the win.  The winner of the 3:00 PM match-up will advance on to
Saturday's championship contest.

Transylvania (11-5-1, 7-2 HCAC) and Hanover (13-4-1, 6-2-1 HCAC) will meet
in the second semi-final Wednesday.  The Panthers defeated the Pioneers 1-0
on October 3.  Jennie Dumaine (California, Ky./Campbell Co.) beat the Transy
defense early in the first half to score the matches only goal.  Action will
get underway from Transylvania at 7:00 PM Wednesday.

The winner of the conference tournament will earn the conference's automatic
qualifier into the NCAA Division III tournament that is slated to begin on
November 10.  The highest remaining seed after the two semi-finals will host
the conference tournament final at 1:00 PM Saturday.
