HANOVER, Ind. — The Earlham College women's tennis team had its three-match winning
streak snapped on Wednesday as the Quakers dropped a 7-2 decision to Hanover
Olivia Engle was involved in both victories in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference affair against the Panthers (2-3, 2-2).
Engle and Claire Welsh beat Allison Poston and Alexis Taylor 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
In singles action, Engle defeated Kim Fong 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1.
The Quakers (3-2, 2-2) entertain Capital University on Friday. The match on the EC
Courts starts at 4:30 p.m.
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — After a scoreless opening period on Wednesday there was a lot of
offense in the second half as the Earlham College women's soccer team fell 3-1 to
Wittenberg (2-2-2) scored three goals at 49:34, 54:35 and 65:00 to take a 3-0
Joy Doucette picked up Earlham's goal with an assist from Ikumi Doucette at 85:59.
The Tigers led 20-16 in shots and 16-5 in corner kicks.
Earlham goalkeeper A.J. Johnson had six saves for the Quakers. Annie Frodeman also
had a save in goal for the Quakers.
Earlham (3-3) visits Kenyon College on Saturday. The non-conference match begins at
RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team opened play in the Heartland
Collegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday against Hanover College.
The Panthers won 25-17, 25-12, 25-16 in the contest on Schuckman Court in the
Athletics and Wellness Center. Hanover is 7-7 overall and 1-0 in the HCAC.
Jazmyn Corlew led the Quakers with nine kills, while Ashlee Heberger had a team-high
Meg Huffmeyer topped Earlham with 14 digs. Kazondra Ramos added 10 digs.
Earlham (5-7, 0-1) returns to action on Friday with a non-conference affair at
Wilmington College. The match gets underway at 7 p.m.
