Home » Girls' Basketball NewsCOMET GIRLS BB TEAM DROPS TWO TO END THE WEEKDecember 12, 2011 Cardinal High SchoolThe Lady Comets ended the week with losses to two tough teams last week. Thursday Pekin and Cardinal battled to a 66-55 final score. Lindsay Moore led Cardinal with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. She also had 3 assists. Brooke Courtney scored in double figures with 10 points. Brooke also grabbed 7 rebounds. Liz Nichols chipped in 7 points with 3 steals and a team leading 4 assists.
The following night the girls traveled to Notre Dame. It was their third road game in 4 days and fatigue seemed to be a factor in the game. Add the fact that Notre Dame has a very good team and it ended up being a long night for the Comets. Notre Dame cruised to a 79-27 win. Lindsay Moore continued on her scoring streak leading Cardinal with 10 points. Morgan Honomichl had some nice contributions for the night with 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Courtney Smith led the team with 4 steals. Laci Moore also had 3 steals. Liz Nichols nabbed 7 rebounds and Sarah Greiner had 2 assists. The Comets will get to lick their wounds for a few days as their next game will be Friday at West Burlington.
