Ryan Cale finished in fourth place at the Iowa State Wrestling Tournament. Ryan wrestled at the 113 weight class in the Class 1A division. He came into the tourney sporting a 36-9 record. Ryan won 4 of 6 matches in the last three days.

On Thursday Ryan faced Grant Barron from Don Bosco and pinned him in the third round. He was able to watch the rest of the day as teammate Dustin Miller unfortunately bowed out after two very tough matches.

Friday morning Ryan was up against Zach Ulven from Westwood and came up on the short end of an overtime match 5-3. Later Friday morning he faced Jose Montes of West Sioux. He was down 6-0 but was able to turn the table and pin Montes. He came back Friday afternoon to face Christian Polley from Tri-Center and took care of business with a 6-0 win.

Saturday morning Ryan came up against Kaden McClintock of St. Edmomd and came away with an 8-4 victory. Now he was in the match for 3rd or 4th place. It was rematch time as his opponent was once again Zach Ulven. It was a tough match again for Ryan as he battled but lost 2-0 to finish fourth place.

Congratulations to Ryan for a tremendous season. We are very proud of him and we have thoroughly enjoyed watching him and the rest of his teammates compete this season!
