INDIANOLA — The Ottumwa boys tennis team took wins at the top three singles positions to earn a 7-4 road win over Indianola on Thursday.

Top-seeded C.J. Ray took a 6-2, 6-0 win over Indianola’s Peter Jackson, No. 2 seed Steve Ray took a 6-0, 6-2 win over Lukas Georgeff and No. 3 seed Jared Bohlmann downed Indianola’s Paul Schlenket 6-4, 6-3.

“Indianola had the kind of team that kept the ball in play, so you had to hit more shots than they did or hit by them,” said Ottumwa coach Alan Paris. “We did enough of both to pull out the match.”

Jacob Gardner also took a singles win at the No. 6 slot, while the Ottumwa doubles teams of C.J. Ray and Sam Kramer, Steve Ray and Bohlmann and Gardner and Alec Moss all took wins in doubles.

The Bulldogs are now finished with their road schedule for the rest of the regular season, as the remainder of their matches will take place at home. The Bulldogs will host Fairfield Maharishi on Monday.

“It will be nice playing at home the rest of the season,” said Paris.
