By E. Shawn Aylsworth of Terre Haute South High SchoolNo. 24 Terre Haute North (348) placed two girls golfers among the first five Aug. 9 in upsetting 13th-ranked Jasper by two shots for the title at this 10-team tourney at Rea Park.
Rachel Welker shot an 81 to win medalist honors for the Patriots, while teammate Jesi Kaperak tied for fourth individually with South Vermillion’s Bailey Craft after each fired an 84. Meanwhile, Allison Neuhoff of Jasper and Terre Haute South’s Morgan Patterson tied for second at 82.
Vincennes Rivet finished third at 367, with host Terre Haute South (369) slipping past No. 23 Washington by two strokes for fourth.
