Lady Braves and Lady Patriots Tie 2-2

For those who missed the first half of the Terre Haute North vs. Terre Haute South girls soccer game, you missed all of the goal scoring. The good news, however, is that you didn't miss all of the excitment, as there were several tense moments both ways in the 2-2 tie at Terre Haute South on Thursday night. The scoring started very early, as Maddie Kesler opened the scoring 3 minutes in. Kesler's goal made the score 1-0 South. Molly McKee responded with a goal of her own a minute later to tie it at 1. In the 10th minute, Kayla Serrato placed one in the back of the net to make it 2-1 South. That score stood til the 34th minute whenMcKee added hre 2nd tally of the contest. McKee's goal was the last one of the contest, final score Terre Haute South 2, Terre Haute North 2.
By virtue of the tie, Terre Haute South retains the traveling soccer trophy, where is has resided for the last 11 years. It was the first tie in the series since 2001, when the final score was 0-0.
Both teams return to action Saturday with MIC road games against Center Grove and North Central. South is now 2-3-1 for the season.
