By Brian Mancuso of Terre Haute South High SchoolThe Terre Haute South Boys Cross Country team continued their winning ways Saturday at the Ted Fox Invitational. The Braves captured their first invitational team title under Coach Kyle Walsh, while Jackson Bertoli placed first overall. Bertoli finished with a time of 15:53. Logan Hambrock was a solid 3rd overall for tHS with a time of 16:06, while Spencer Danielson finsihed 7th with a time of 16:28.
The Girls Cross Country team finished 5th at the Ted Fox Invtiational. Katie Schmidt was 15th for the Lady Braves with a time of 19:52. Nikki Thiede finished just behind her at 19:56.
The Boys Soccer team dropped a pair of MIC matches, losing at Lawrence North 3-1 and at Warren Central 4-1.
The Girls Soccer team lost their morning match to Lawrence North 2-0 before tying Warren Central 3-3. Courtney Hubbard, Kayla Serrato, and Annie Hubbard had goals for THS. Taylor Crosby had an assist for the Lady Braves.
The Girls Golf team closed out their season in Regional play. On a wet, windy day, the Lady Braves finished 14th, which was the highest of any local teams. Alexandra Pickens shot a 90 to lead THS. Freshman Ali Danielson shot a 93.
In football, THS held a 13-10 lead after 3 quarters against undefeated Ben Davis, but could not hold on. Ben Davis added a field goal and a late touchdown to widen the final score to 30-13. THS returns to action this Friday with a 7:30PM start against North Central.
